A Dip in the Pool

There we were – me in a wheelchair and Grammy moving at the same glacial pace.

With family frolicking in the pool, we both took the chance.

Neither of us remotely prepared for it, we ventured in anyway, fully clothed.

It was the first time for us both, and her face lit up.

She finally got to feel the cool water on her skin and enjoy an activity she would have normally missed out on.

I forever hold onto that day as something special, a memory I will always cherish in my heart.
